Abstract:
The present invention mitigates temperature increase. This projection system (100) comprises a light source unit (1), a spatial light modulation unit (3), and a projection optical system (4). The light source unit (1) comprises an optical fiber (2), a first light source unit (11), and second light source units (12). The optical fiber (2) has a light incidence section (21), a light emitting section (22), and a wavelength conversion section. The wavelength conversion section is provided between the light incidence section (21) and the light emitting section (22). The wavelength conversion section includes a wavelength conversion element. The wavelength conversion element can be excited by excitation light (P1) and generate spontaneous emission that has a longer wavelength than the excitation light (P1), and the wavelength conversion element can be excited by amplified spontaneous emission. The first light source unit (11) causes the excitation light (P1) to be incident on the light incidence section (21). The second light source units (12) cause seed light (P2) to be incident on the light incidence section (21), the seed light (P2) being for generating induced emission light from the wavelength conversion element that was excited by the excitation light (P1) or the amplified spontaneous emission.
