Abstract:
Provided are a projection-type display device and a method for controlling the temperature thereof which make it possible to easily cool a light source unit and cool and warm an optical modulation element. A HUD equipped with: a light source unit (57); an optical modulation element (54) for modulating light emitted from the light source unit (57); a projection-type optical system (56) for projecting the modulated light onto a projection surface; air guide channels (61, 62) for guiding wind (W) delivered by an air-conditioning device (9) of a vehicle (100) to the light source unit (57); an air guide channel (61) for guiding the wind (W) to the optical modulation element (54); a shutter (63) for opening and closing the air guide channels (61, 62); and a system control unit (64) for selectively performing a shutter (63) control for closing the air guide channels (61, 62) and a shutter (63) control for opening the air guide channels (61, 62).
