Abstract:
This projection-type video display device is provided with a first housing and a second housing (102). The first housing contains the following: a light-source unit that emits light; a video generation unit that generates video light by modulating the light from the light-source unit in accordance with a video input signal; and a projection unit that projects the video light generated by the video generation unit. The second housing (102) is provided with an optical-signal output unit (for example, an LED (192) for indicating the status of the device) and/or an optical-signal input unit (for example, a light-receiving unit (193) for a signal from a remote control), positioned so as to be exposed on the surface of the second housing.
