Abstract:
A projector that, when shifting to a power-saving mode, is capable of suppressing a flicker phenomenon and immediately projecting an image having the brightness of the power-saving mode, thereby preventing a user of the projector from incorrectly perceiving that the projector is broken. The projector uses, as the electric power for the light source, first to third electric power in descending order of the electric power value thereof, and comprises a control unit that, upon receiving an input for selecting the third electric power, supplies the second electric power to a light source, decreases the amplitude of an image signal, and, after a lapse of a given time, supplies the third electric power to the light source.
