Abstract:
Provided is a projector that prevents decreases in the quality of a formed image by controlling the temperature distribution of a projection lens. The projector is provided with an image formation panel 14 on which an image is formed and a projection lens 15 that projects the image of the image formation panel 14. The center of the image formation panel 14 is shifted and fixed in a direction that is the opposite of a direction in which the central position of the projected image of the image formation panel 14 is offset with respect to the optical axis L of the projection lens 15. The lens barrel 31 of the projection lens 15 is farther to the image formation panel 14 side than a diaphragm position 32 that determines the f-number of the projection lens. The projector is additionally provided with a heating means 33 for heating a part of the lens barrel on the opposite side from the direction in which the image formation panel 14 is shifted. A cooling means may be provided instead of the heating means, or both the heating means and the cooling means may be provided.
