Abstract:
A proof stress estimation method including: a determination step in which shot peening conditions for applying maximum residual stress to a target object comprising a metal material are determined; a shot peening step in which shot peening of the target object occurs under the shot peening conditions; a measurement step in which the residual stress in the object after shot peening is measured; and an estimation step in which the proof stress of the target object is estimated on the basis of the measured residual stress and the relationship between the proof stress of the target object and the pre-obtained maximum residual stress.
