Abstract:
The propeller shaft relating to the present invention comprises: an outer ring member (3) having a bottom section (33) in which a ventilation hole (37) is formed through a first end section (3a) connected to a shaft member (driven shaft (2)); an inner ring member (4) that is provided to the inner peripheral side of a second end section (3b) of the outer ring member (3) on the side axially opposite to the first end section (3a), and that is connected to a rod member (drive shaft (1)); a ball member (5) provided between the outer ring member (3) and the inner ring member (4) and lubricated by grease (G); a plate member (7), which is a partitioning plate that is attached to the inner periphery of the outer ring member (3) and that, with the bottom section (33), forms an auxiliary chamber (30); and a communication path (hole (70)) which is either provided to the plate member (7) or formed by the plate member (7) and the outer ring member (3) cooperating to allow communication between the first end section (3a) side and the second end section (3b) side of the outer ring member (3) with the plate member (7) interposed therebetween.
