Abstract:

Disclosed are a propulsion apparatus for a ship and a ship comprising same. A propulsion apparatus for a ship according to an embodiment of the present invention comprises: a rear propeller fixed on a rotary shaft; a front propeller rotatably supported on the rotary shaft and located in front of the rear propeller; one or more bearings interposed between a front propeller hub and the rotary shaft and/or between the rotary shaft and a hull; and a counter-rotating device for reversing the rotation of the rotary shaft and transmitting the reversed rotation to the front propeller, the counter-rotating device including a gear box having a plurality of gears embedded therein to reverse the front propeller, the gear box being accommodated in an installation space formed in a stern of the hull. The rotary shaft has one or more measuring units mounted thereon to monitor the operating state of one or more of the bearings.
