Abstract:
Provided is a protection circuit for an in-vehicle battery, said protection circuit being capable of detecting an internal short-circuit that occurs in the in-vehicle battery, and performing protection operations in the cases where the internal short-circuit occurred. A protection circuit (10) for an in-vehicle battery (2) has: a detection unit (41) capable of detecting at least the temperature of the in-vehicle battery (2); and a control unit (42) capable of controlling a first relay (15) and a second relay (33). In the cases where the first relay (15) is in the on-state, and the second relay (33) is in the off-state, the control unit (42) performs a first switch control when the temperature or an output current of the in-vehicle battery (2) is within a first abnormal range, said temperature or output current having been detected by the detection unit (41), and performs a second switch control in the cases where the temperature of the in-vehicle battery (2), said temperature having been detected by the detection unit (41) after the first switch control, is within the first abnormal range or a second abnormal range.
