Title:
PROTECTION OF METALLIC SURFACES AGAINST THERMALLY-INDUCED WRINKLING (RUMPLING) IN PARTICULAR IN GAS TURBINES
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO2005033351
Kind Code:
A3
Abstract:
Gas turbine blades in jet engines or power generators are subject to high thermal loads which have a cyclical pattern and which lead to a roughening of the metallic surfaces. According to the invention, the metallic surfaces are provided with a thin ceramic coating with a thickness of less than 50 µm, which prevents roughening.
