A protective device (1), comprising: at least one conveying mechanism (10) for conveying a tray (100) of a security check system and/or an article to be checked; a protective medium (20) comprising a first portion (21) and a second portion (22), the first portion (21) being configured to be conveyed to an inner surface of the tray (100) to isolate said article from the tray (100); a medium supporting member (30) configured to carry the second portion (22) of the protective medium (20), such that the second portion (22) can rotate; and at least one medium conveying mechanism (50) configured to extend in a conveying direction of the first portion (21) of the protective medium (20), so as to convey the first portion (21) of the protective medium (20) to the tray (100) in a linear motion mode. The protective device (1) can automatically protect the tray (100) in the security check system. Further provided is a luggage security check system, comprising the protective device (1).
