Abstract:
Provided is a protective element that prevents damage to an element by relieving the internal pressure of a housing through an opening provided in the housing and that is capable of ensuring an appropriate insulating property. The present invention is provided with: a soluble conductor 3; first and second external connection terminals 7, 8 that are connected to both end sections of the soluble conductor 3; and a housing 6 that has a lower case 4 and an upper case 5, wherein one end of each of the first external connection terminal 7 and the second external connection terminal 8 is drawn from the housing 6, and in the housing 6, a first opening 24 is formed to face the surface of the first external connection terminal 7 and a second opening 25 is formed to face the surface of the second external connection terminal 8.
