Abstract:
A protective garment for use when riding motorcycles or other vehicles in which the rider is exposed includes protective armor in, for example, portions of the garment covering the back, shoulders (22), elbows (22) and knees. The armor is attached elastically (24) to the interior of the garment so that it can move freely with the rider instead of being immovably fixed to garment. The armor thus protects the rider's most vulnerable areas from abrasion or impact, regardless of the rider's movements in the garment, and does not restrict the rider's movements or compromise his comfort while in the garment.
