Abstract:
This invention makes it possible to provide protectors that can accommodate wire harnesses in accordance with wiring routes without installing a hot press machine, for shaping the protectors so as to be able to accommodate the wire harnesses, at the site where the wire harnesses are being manufactured. In order to achieve that goal, this protector manufacturing method is provided with the following steps: a processing step in which at least some areas of a flexible, sheet-shaped nonwoven material containing base fibers and a binder having a lower melting point than said base fibers are heated and compressed, yielding a sheet material; and an assembly step in which said sheet material is deformed to assemble a protector provided with an accommodating section provided with an internal space that can accommodate a wire harness.
