Abstract:
The purpose of the present invention is to reduce connection cost between a public switched telephone network (PSTN) and an IP network. A protocol conversion device is arranged between a public switched telephone network using a common signal line scheme and an IP network. The protocol conversion device is provided with a protocol conversion unit which, with respect to a message exchanged between the public switched telephone network and the IP network, mutually converts an MTP2 message of layer 2 of the public switched telephone network and an M2PA message of layer 2 on the IP network side.
