Abstract:
Provided are: a pump device which is compact and can provide a sufficient flow rate; and an endoscope device using the pump device.
A pump device for conveying fluid located within a flow path, the pump device conveying the fluid by generating a traveling wave in a first flexible thin film which forms at least a part of the wall surface of the flow path, the traveling wave propagating in the longitudinal direction of the flow path.
The pump device is provided with an oscillation means for oscillating the traveling wave by oscillating a predetermined portion of the first flexible thin film in the out-of-plane direction. The first flexible thin film forms a part of a chamber in which a non-compressible fluid is sealed. A second flexible thin film forms another part of the chamber. An oscillation mechanism acting on the second flexible thin film generates a traveling wave in the second flexible thin film, and a traveling wave is generated in the first flexible thin film by the displacement of the non-compressible fluid caused by the traveling wave generated in the second flexible thin film.
The traveling wave generated in the first flexible thin film has a substantially greater out-of-plane displacement than the traveling wave generated in the second flexible thin film.
