Abstract:
A pump controller controls a first plunger pump and a second plunger pump connected in series or in parallel in a manner such that the plunger pumps alternately perform an inhalation and compression movement at a roughly constant cycle. Moreover, the pump controller sets the compression chamber of at least one of the plunger pumps to have a higher pressure than the other and controls the flow rate by adjusting the amount of lift of the first plunger and the second plunger. As a consequence, it is possible to provide a liquid chromatograph and a pump for a liquid chromatograph such that it is possible to reduce the pulsation even when the discharge flow rate is varied.
