Title:
PUMP TAPPET
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2011/102159
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
Disclosed is a light and compact pump tappet which has an anti-rotation pin structure that is capable of preventing or suppressing abrasion of a recessed groove (16b) of a guide hole (16) caused by a reciprocating sliding movement of an anti-rotation pin (24) of the tappet, even when the recessed groove (16b) of the guide hole (16) is formed from a soft material such as aluminum. The anti-rotation pin (24) of the tappet slides in the recessed groove (16b) of the guide hole (16), and the anti-rotation pin (24) is rotatable with the axis of rotation being a line segment having a direction that is perpendicular to the sliding direction of the tappet. Contact is made between the anti-rotation pin (24) and the recessed groove (16b) of the guide hole (16) by rolling contact rather than sliding contact, and abrasion of the recessed groove (16b) of the guide hole (16) is therefore prevented or suppressed.
