Provided is a space-saving pumping device that is capable of performing variable speed operation control by the pumping device alone while reliably dissipating heat. The pumping device is constructed by integrating a pump unit with an impeller, which is provided inside a pump casing, with a rotating electric machine for rotating the impeller. The rotating electric machine has a construction comprising: a housing that has multiple cooling fins on the outer circumference; a stator that is installed in the housing; a rotator that is fixed to the rotary shaft of the rotating electric machine, and that is constructed by cylindrically arranging multiple permanent magnets; a bearing for supporting the rotary shaft; an end bracket to which the bearing is attached; a fan that is attached to one side of an end bracket that is provided on the opposite side to the side where the pump unit is attached; a cover for covering the housing; a power conversion unit that is attached to a part of the housing; and a control board that is attached to a different part of the housing.
