Abstract:
A punching device and a punching method. A punching device (101) is provided with: a punching blade (1), a punching die (2), a first pressing section (3), a base (4), a first press mechanism (5), and a stage (6) which are used to punch out, from a multilayer body (12) of optical material sheets, a multilayer body (20) having a predetermined shape; a send-out roller (7), a winding roller (8), and a sheet material take-out section (10) which are used to convey the multilayer body (20) and the multilayer body (12) of optical material sheets; a press-down section (9) for pressing down the multilayer body (20); and a control section (11) for controlling the press-down section (9) so that, during a period in which conveyance of the multilayer body (20) and the multilayer body (12) of optical material sheets is stopped, the press-down section (9) presses down the multilayer body (20) for a predetermined period including the time point at which the multilayer body (20) to be pressed down is punched out next time.
