Abstract:
A butterfly needle (1) using this puncture needle has: a needle body (2) having a needle tip (21) at the tip thereof; a hub (3) provided on the base-end side of the needle body (2); a pair of wings (4a, 4b) provided on the hub (3), and each protruding in opposite directions having the hub (3) therebetween; a flexible tube (5) connected to the base-end side of the hub (3); and an absorbent material (6) capable of absorbing blood present on the surface of an organism, in the punctured state in which the needle body (2) has punctured the organism. This absorbent material (6) is provided on a surface of the hub (3) that is positioned on the organism side in the punctured state, along the longitudinal direction of the needle body (2), and on at least part of the front end section of the hub (3).
