Title:
PYROELECTRIC CERAMIC COMPOSITION, PYROELECTRIC ELEMENT, AND INFRARED DETECTOR
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2007/125664
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
This invention provides a pyroelectric ceramic composition comprising a compound represented by general formula (Pb1-xCax)(1+a){(Ni1/3Nb2/3)yTi(1-y)}O3, wherein x, y and a are 0.20 ≤ x ≤ 0.27, 0.01 ≤ y ≤ 0.06 and 0.001 ≤ a ≤ 0.02, respectively, as a main component and containing 0.3 to 2.5 moles of Mn based on 100 moles of the main component. A segregation product containing Ni, Ti and Mn is contained in an amount of not more than 1.0 vol% (including 0 vol%) in a fired sinter. The above constitution can realize a pyroelectric ceramic composition that has a properly low insulating resistance and, at the same time, has good pyroelectric properties while having a high Curie temperature. Since the composition has a high Curie temperature, a thin-layer and small-size pyroelectric element, which can be subjected to reflow treatment, can be provided. Since the composition has low insulating resistance, in an infrared detector comprising a pyroelectric element using the above composition, there is no need to provide any load resistor parallel to the pyroelectric element. Accordingly, a size reduction can be realized.
