Abstract:
Provided is a small pyroelectric infrared sensor element with which it is possible to detect infrared rays of a desired wavelength region with high sensitivity. An infrared absorption/transmission body 30 is disposed between an upper electrode 40 and a lower electrode 20. In the infrared absorption/transmission body 30, a separation layer 32 having a refractive index different from the refractive index of a plurality of pyroelectric layers 31a, 31b is interposed between the pyroelectric layers 31a, 31b. The pyroelectric layers 31a, 31b may be formed from, e.g., an organic pyroelectric body, and the separation layer 32 may be formed from, e.g., an inorganic material.
