Abstract:
The present invention relates to a process of pyrometallurgy of zinc and a kind of closed furnace for zinc smelting. The technique is taken in a manner with an arc furnace right above a blast furnace. The arc furnace is used to decompose the carbon dioxide in the exhaust gas from the blast furnace, changing it completely into carbon monoxide which is cooled along with the gas to obtain liquid zinc and cadmium. The liquid zinc and cadmium are then heated to be refined as pure ones. The closed smelting furnace further includes an upside down water-cooled condenser, a zinc collecting tank, a temperature-control electric furnace under the tank, a mini condenser, air pumps and a dust collector.
