Abstract:
A quality evaluation method for juvenile Guang earthworms. The method comprises: sampling juvenile Guang earthworms according to a proportion of 5-10‰, checking the individual integrity and body color of the sampled Guang earthworms, checking whether there is an obvious reproductive ring present, measuring the average weight of the Guang earthworms, weighing each individual specimen, measuring the diameter of the reproductive ring, assessing the vitality of the sample, measuring the total length of each individual specimen, and the length from the reproductive ring to the tail of the Guang earthworms; determining that the juvenile Guang earthworms are of an acceptable standard if the following requirements are met: the individual Guang earthworm specimens are complete, the color of their back ranges from brown to purplish-gray, the abdomen is light yellowish-brown, there is an obvious reproductive ring present, the average weight of the Guang earthworm sample is greater than or equal to 24.0 g, the weight of each individual specimen is greater than or equal to 20.0 g, the diameter of the reproductive ring is greater than or equal to 9.0 mm, the vitality of the sample is longer than or equal to 40.0 s, the total length of each individual specimen is greater than or equal to 25.0 cm, and the length from the reproductive ring to the tail of the Guang earthworms is greater than or equal to 20.0 cm. The evaluation method can be used for purchasing and screening juvenile Guang earthworms, as well as for testing and monitoring the quality of juvenile Guang earthworms, thereby facilitating propagation of the Guang earthworms.
