Abstract:
A quantum key distribution system, comprising a transmitting terminal and a receiving terminal. The transmitting terminal comprises a transmitting terminal driving board, a signal laser, a synchronous laser, an intensity modulator, a polarization-maintaining beam splitter, a first adjustable attenuator, a second adjustable attenuator and a transmitting terminal wavelength division multiplexer. The receiving terminal comprises a receiving terminal driving board, a receiving terminal wavelength division multiplexer, a synchronous detector, a polarization beam splitter, a polarization-maintaining beam splitter and a single-photon detector, and the receiving terminal wavelength division multiplexer is connected to the transmitting terminal wavelength division multiplexer by means of a quantum channel. Also provided by the present invention is a quantum key distribution method. Compared to existing technology, the present invention has the advantage of a polarization beam splitter being added to the receiving terminal so as to decompose signal light into two vertical polarization states, wherein the interference under the respective polarization states is accomplished by using a polarization-maintaining optical fiber interference ring, thus obtaining a relatively good interference result; at the same time, an error correction system is eliminated, the redundancy of the system is simplified and the production cost is also reduced.
