Abstract:
A quaternary ammonium compound represented by formula (1).
[(R1)m(R2)4-mN+]nXn- (1)
(In the formula, each R1 independently represents an unsubstituted alkyl group or substituted alkyl group having 1-30 carbon atoms, an aryl group having 6-20 carbon atoms, an aralkyl group obtained by substituting an unsubstituted alkyl group or substituted alkyl group having 1-30 carbon atoms by at least one aryl group having 6-20 carbon atoms, or an alkylaryl group obtained by substituting an aryl group having 6-20 carbon atoms by at least one unsubstituted alkyl group or substituted alkyl group having 1-30 carbon atoms; the unsubstituted alkyl group or substituted alkyl group is linear, branched or cyclic; the substituent of the substituted alkyl group is a halogen atom, a hydroxyl group, an aldehyde group, a carboxyl group, an amino group or an amide group; the unsubstituted alkyl group, the aryl group, the aralkyl group and the alkylaryl group may have a hydrogen atom substituted by a halogen atom; each R2 independently represents a group represented by formula -(RO)k-H (wherein R represents a substituted or unsubstituted alkyl group and k represents a natural number of 2 or more) and having 2-60 carbon atoms and 2-30 oxygen atoms; each of m and n represents an integer of 1-3; and X represents a hydroxyl group or a group which is an acid residue of a compound selected from the group consisting of a monocarboxylic acid having 1-20 carbon atoms, a hydracid, an oxo acid, an inorganic thio acid and an organic thio acid having 1-20 carbon atoms, and which does not contain a nitrogen atom.)
