Abstract:
This quenching device comprises: a rotating base 36 that, upon soaking a workpiece holding member H that holds a heated workpiece W in a cooling liquid X accommodated in a cooling liquid tank provided below a quenching chamber 11 using a lifting device 20 and then quenching the workpiece holding member, holds the workpiece holding member soaked in the cooling liquid by the lifting device; a rotating arm 34 to which the rotating base is rotatably attached; a rotating mechanism that causes the rotating arm to rotate such that the workpiece holding member held on the rotating base revolves along a circumferential trajectory within the cooling liquid tank; and an autorotation mechanism that causes the rotating base rotatably attached to the rotating arm to undergo autorotation.
