Abstract:
Provided is a quick charging device which facilitates control when a storage battery for power of an electric vehicle is charged and achieves compact size and reduced costs even when a storage battery for quick charging is used. A quick charging device (10) is provided with first and second storage batteries for quick charging (12, 13) which are capable of quickly charging a storage battery for power (20), a large-capacity storage battery (14) which has a larger electric capacity than the first and second storage batteries for quick charging (12, 13), and a controller (16) which, when the storage battery for power (20) is charged, connects the first storage battery for quick charging (12) and the large-capacity storage battery (14) in series to add the electric power of the large-capacity storage battery (14) to the electric power of the first storage battery for quick charging (12) and outputs resultant electric power, and when the electric capacity of the first storage battery for quick charging (12) becomes practically zero, connects the second storage battery for quick charging (13) and the large-capacity storage battery (14) in series to add the electric power of the large-capacity storage battery (14) to the electric power of the second storage battery for quick charging (13) and outputs resultant electric power.
