Description:
DESCRIPTION

QUICK CONNECTION MEMBER RESISTANT TO HIGH PRESSURE Technical Field

The present invention relates to the quick connection members that control the fluid passages. The invention relates in particular to the ability of utilizing the quick connection members under higher pressure, owing to the improvement realized.

Prior Art At the present, the quick connection members are used, which maintain the fluid passage under control and provide sealing. Usually the couplings are used as the quick connection members. The fitting of the couplings on a fluid line is performed by means of a coupling seat, whereby the fluid is enabled to be conveyed in a leakproof manner.

The couplings fitted on a fluid line experience variable and high pressures according to the type of the fluid and the line and the purpose of use thereof. The couplings, particularly when operating under high pressure, may not perfectly provide the desired sealing and control functions. As a result, there exists the need for the connection members, which may operate in a safe and faultless manner also under high pressures, owing to an improvement provided in the structure of the existing quick connection members.

In the patent search conducted, no patent or utility model application was encountered to cover the improvement according to the invention. Although exhibiting no similarity to the present invention, the utility model application no. 2006/02431 relates to the quick connection members, which enable the glass products manufactured during the glass product manufacture to be vacuumed and delivered to the cooling zone for cooling purposes.

The utility model application no. 2009/05551 relates to a non-pressed, bush- containing flexible connection system, which is used as the connection member in the natural gas and water fittings. Owing to the non-pressed, bush-containing flexible connection system, there is left no need to press the end portion of the flexible hose using a machine or apparatus and to position a ring, and therefore, the process of joining may be realized in a practical and rapid manner, thereby saving on time.

The utility model application no. 2007/02781 relates to at least one cover, which enables the connecting end to be released and separated, which is positioned on the body and which is capable of moving in both directions (forward and backward), in order to enable the ability of opening in two directions for the quick connection members positioned on the fluid lines.

Object of the Invention The object of the present invention is to make the quick connection members resistant to higher pressures, owing to the improvement realized.

Another object of the invention is to bring the performance, resistance and lifetime of the quick connection members under very high pressures to higher levels.

Another object of the invention is to eliminate the hazards like leakage and explosion that might arise in the quick connection members operating under very high pressures. Another object of the invention is to increase the resistance of the quick connection member to very high pressure, thereby extending the fields of use for the same. In order to achieve said objects, the invention provides a quick connection member comprising a body, a cover mounted on the body, a back part connected with the body, a valve located inside the back part, a valve gasket and valve ring secured on the valve, an intermediate piece located inside the body, a cover spring located between the cover and the back part, a valve spring located on the valve, a body o-ring located inside the body, valve housing o-ring mounted inside the intermediate piece, a valve o-ring mounted between the valve and the intermediate piece and a ball positioned inside the body, said quick connection member being characterized in that in order to enable the quick connection member to operate even under very high pressures in a safe manner without any leakage problem, it comprises

- a backup-ring positioned between the body and the back part,

- an o-ring positioned inside backup-ring.

The present invention relates to a quick connection member, which maintains the fluid passage under control and provides sealing. In Figure 1 , a sectional view is provided for the quick connection member used according to the prior art.

In Figure 2, the view of the quick connection member according to the invention is provided. In Figure 3, a sectional view is provided for an alternative embodiment of the quick connection member according to the invention.

As seen in Figure 1 , the quick connection member according to the prior art comprises a body (1), a sleeve (2) mounted on the body (1), a back part (3) assembled to the body (1), a valve (4) located inside the back part (3), a valve seal (5) and valve housing (6) fixed onto the valve (4), an intermediate piece (7) located inside the body (1), a sleeve spring (8) located between the sleeve (2) and the body (1), a valve spring (9) located on the valve (4), a body sealing o-ring (10) located inside the body (1), an o-ring (11) mounted inside the intermediate piece (7), a valve o-ring (12) mounted on the valve (4) and the intermediate piece (7), a ball (13) positioned inside the body (1 ), valve housing (14) positioned back side of the body, body sealing o-ring (15) positioned between valve housing (14),and body (1) and back part (3) for providing the sealing. The o-ring component used according to the state of art leads to deformation or leakage when the pressure reaches very high values. For this reason, the existing quick connection members may not provide the desired performance and sealing under very high pressures. Since the body sealing o-ring (15) used according to the state of art leads to deformation or leakage when the pressure reaches very high values, the improvements seen in Figures 2 and 3 are realized.

As can be seen in Figures 2 and 3, the valve housing (14) component of the prior art has been eliminated in the quick connection member according to the invention. The form of the the valve housing (14) component is added to the body (1), and is formed on the body (1). Further, body sealing o-ring (15) used in the prior art has been eliminated, and instead of this component, the rear piece backup ring (17) and the sealing o-ring (16) inside the back part back-up ring (17) have been added, thereby making the sealing in the associated region resistant to high pressures. Owing to the back part back-up ring (17) and the Sealing o-ring (16) positioned between the body (1) and the back part (3), the quick connection member is enabled to operate in a safe manner without leakage problem even under very high pressures.

In Figure 3, a sectional view is provided for an alternative embodiment of the quick connection member. Compared to Figure 2, there is a small difference of form in the connection region of the body (1) and the rear piece (3).
