Abstract:
The present invention relates to a quick connector for a fluid path of a vehicle, which is coupled to a fluid pipe, such as a fuel pipe of a vehicle fuel tank, etc., such that the quick connector is freely attachable/detachable, in order to connect a fluid hose. A conventional quick connector (200) for a fluid path of a vehicle employs numerous component parts, which causes inconveniences in manufacture and an increase in cost. The conventional quick connector (200) has further drawbacks in that an operating portion of a locking member (220) is arranged in the vicinity of the front end of a housing (210), and thus the quick connector is interfered with by a fixed wall such as a side wall or the like of a fuel tank during attachment/detachment to a fluid pipe, resulting in a significant deterioration of operation. The quick connector for a fluid path of a vehicle according to the present invention comprises: a housing, one side of which has a fluid pipe connection portion and the other side of which has a fluid hose connection portion; a locking member secured to the fluid pipe connection portion of the housing to support a fluid pipe inserted in the fluid pipe connection portion such that the fluid pipe is attachable/detachable; a pair of seal rings arranged in the fluid pipe connection portion of the housing to maintain air-tightness between the fluid pipe and the fluid pipe connection portion of the housing; and a space ring interposed between the seal rings. Locking member connection portions protrude from both sides of the outer surface of the fluid pipe connection portion of the housing. An insertion hole and a support hole are formed at the front end and rear end of each of the locking member connection portions. The locking member has locking pieces which are formed at both sides thereof and connected to the locking member connection portions of the housing. Each of the locking pieces has an inner center having a rotation center protrusion. A safety ring is interposed between the locking pieces to prevent the seal rings and the space ring from escaping. According to the present invention, the safety ring is integrally formed with the locking member to prevent the seal rings and the space ring from escaping, and therefore the quick connector of the present invention is conveniently made with less component parts and at a reduced cost. The quick connector of the present invention is configured such that the rear portion of the locking member arranged relatively far away from the front end of the housing is pressed to unlock the fluid pipe, such that interference by a fixed wall such as a side wall or the like of a fuel tank is prevented during attachment/detachment to the fluid pipe, thereby significantly improving the operation of the quick connector.
