Description:
QUICK-RELEASE NUT

I - Motives Exposition TECHNICAL FIELD

The present invention is conected to devices for the assembly and the secure subordination of mechanical committees as a rule, and but particularly is referring to a nut car-adjustable subordination having by purpose offered a middle link you extremely secure, rapid and effective, that favors the mechanics connection by threaded in optimum conditions. BACKGROUND ART

From very ancient the nut -in combination with a screw-constitutes a typical middle of subordination, whose efficiency depends ofthe touch conferred to maintain the mechanics link. However, it is a known fact that by various reasons are produced slackening, such as by effect of the same efforts to the fact that they are submitted the linked parts, the vibrancy, etc. Though the object of the present invention was originally designed as nut for the assembly and rapid sessions disassembly of bicycles on its shafts results obvious that this is so only an of the infinite applications that it can be given to such nut. By what, from here in more, though to simplify, throughout this documentation is spoken about such specific application, is on-will understand that said it on thats equivalent results valid for other different applications of such nut. Exist several resources to assure the nuts with the maximum adjustment and to maintain them in such position. Thus, for example, to such effect are tended to use locknut, that is to say, two nuts tightened an against another, what reduces notably the possibility lockening, though requires from the provision of a double subordination element, makes indispensable a duplication of the tempos of place and, fundamentally, it does not result a slow but rapid process, but what is discarded it in some applications in those which is required from rapidity of screw and unroll (such as the sessions assembly to bicycle shafts with the employment of such nuts conventional).

Another resource known to assure nuts is the employment offeree socket-pans, and even though this are effective, present inconvenient-though in minor measured-as the indicated in the case ofthe locknut. Also they are known in the state ofthe technique other nut accomplishments that work with command of a lever of action rotary (for the unscrew of the same); lever this that, at the same time acts as a means of hobble.

Such, for example, the case ofthe corresponding nutto the invention patent Argentina N 72.444, whose appearance-in a first impression- could make to suppose that it is considered an equivalent or equal middle; but enough to effect a comparative among the same to prove that both accomplishments are constitutive and functional different; and, furthermore, also the are in its functional or result:

PATENT N 72.444 a) Include a nut provided in its inferior face of two steps. b) The nut is screwed in the extreme ofthe shaft ofthe session, fixon this through a prisoner screw. This characteristic is outspokenly negative for the efficiency ofthe invention since

5 the prisoner, to be squeezed hurts the coil, and if the coil lasts is or it is demanded compels to the employment of a tool each time is wished to vary the adjustment ofthe session, with the only purpose to rotate the prisoner (what, in truth rigor, constitutes a technical contrast). In this system, if is not put it the prisoner, it is not possible to accommodate the session. c) The command arm (that in such patent is designated pitchfork) does not permit per is the loaded or unscrew relative ofthe device on the shaft of the session, because draws insane on a throat. By much requires from special tool to the effect, for fasten. d) A ring lodged in the first such nut step, on the one which can colize. e) by virtue ofthe characteristic that precedes, requires from the presence of a small spike (10) eccentric the one which, by the force that makes the lever produces periodics breaks. is Furthermore, it is not anything clear the manner in which operates an eccentric in this device (mechanics seemed impossible); but yet accepted -by hypothesis route -would be split. f) Adjusts toward an only direction. g) Requires from a second socket-pan elastic, withoutthe one which does not operate. The 0 socket- pan elastic, it is fine and flexible; by what compels to a ledger displacement to produce the adjustment, being at the same time hazardous by that it can be split and produced a slockening in full march, while also is complicated. h) The extremes ofthe command levers are head planas of circular section. So that having a constant diameter do not join, Require because of this the already mentioned prisoner.

25 i) The spikes penetrate in contradictory drillings of the ring, j) Results much more costly, not only by the number of component pieces, and by its schemed, if not fundamentally by the times of armed and disarmed of the session, factor that furthermore, it collects singular importance when it is considered applications such as the assembly of bicycle sessions that act in sports competitions. ao DISCLOSURE OF INVENTION PRESENT REQUEST a) Has an only step; with this results more efficient and; yet, more economic, according to will be seen. b) The nut does not require from fixing of prisoner, forelock or additional element some, 35 since is hobble by the simple action of the extremes in the form of levy and remains thus

car -held until much is turned to loosen when is withdrawn said levy by refutation of the lever. c) The command arm permits threaded and unscrew to will in direct way on the same, and to define each position adopted through the fold of such arm in the form of levy trammelling. d) has not such step but possesses a mean cane in two sections disposed in wheel to the nut, what makes from hobble of the same. e) Does not require from spike neither no another piece to produce the perfect hobble, rapid and axe. What implies greater efficiency, safety, managing simplicity and, obviously, manufacture economy. The lever makes all. f) Permits adjusts in both senses, g) Only employs a socket-pan only rigid and mounted in insane way, by what lacks all the problems outlined in the precedent. Incluse it has several advantages: to draw the lever, since this is found articulated to the own nut, is extracted simultaneously all the set of nut, lever and socket-pan (in the case ofthe patent to extract one is disarmed all the set since this is from loose pieces), h) The extremes ofthe lever are from section oval, so that to rotate, by diameters difference work as eccentric levies and join with the fold over and aver of the own lever against the session, i) By jam, is repit, only the work for eccentricity. Not dowel, no perforations. j) The productive costs and the operations are sensibly smaller, and of all this results also a greater safety.

Consequently, as opposed to all the acquaintance in the matter the new nut object of the invention, to slant s of a simple structure, permits the easy thrreaded and unscrew with driving direct in its own constitution and, fundamentally, the car particularity -be adjusted so soon is fold its lever enabling the greater diameter sector of the rod that composes it, the one which to levy manner, after to reach the threaded maximum maintains holds the nut with the ledger, and without possibility of slokening some; while, when it is wished to unscrew said nut, enough to lift the lever to produce the slokening and to permit the rapid rotation in the direction of such unscrew. All over something which is to imagine the consent that such invention there has to have to be carried to practice, anyone will be the category and fate that is it of, since by the characteristics that define it, is lent by equal to be applied for the subordination, the threaded and unscrew rapid and secure of all machines and devices type. II - llustration For greater clarity and compression ofthe object ofthe invention, is illustrated it with

several, figures in those which has been represented in an its preferred ways of accomplishment, all to simple ilustrative example title, not limitative.

The figure 1 is a partial court of the nut devices car

-adjustable, in position driving rotary of such nut by means ofthe command lever, showing the court ofthe constitution ofthe system, and its disposed the terminals -levy ofthe lever in the position of minina eccentricity. The figure 2 is the same joint in court, though deivided to show the parts that compose the set It is cleared that though the socket-pan is shown dismantled with respect to the nut, in truth rigor, a time monopolized the extremity of the tubular neck of this finishes — according to is illustrated - -such dismantles serious impossible. Nevertheless the nut has been represented with its trumped- shaped (such as is accomplished after to in the socket-pan) to show as remains the same ended. The figure

3 is a lateral sight of the nut device already tight and with the fold over and over lever so that acting the highest part ofthe terminals in levy, produces the retentive adjustment with maximum pressure. The figure 4, a detail in court the lever indicating the manner in which is made it to work as rotary command of threaded and unscrew of the referring nut. The figure 5, a diagrammatical diametrical court of a bicycle session mounted to its shaft through a nuts game as the one which is object ofthe present invention, observing is an of these already tight nuts, with the same on whether folded over and over lever, while the other is shown before to be tightened; and finally. The figure 6, a detail in frontal sight of the same session of the example of application of the figure 5, with the tight nut and the solded over and over lever joined with safety.

In the different figures, the same numbers of references indicate corresponding or equal parts, and they have been indicated with the letters the sets of several elements. List of the principal references: (a), nut

IV-DESCRIPCION In general term, the nut (to) of reference understands a principal body (1 ) conformative of a tubular head, affected under an interior coil (4) that monopolizes all the extension of the drilling, and provided of a command lever (b) that, articulated with that, make possible s its driving rotary for the operations of threaded or unscrew, respectively. With more particularity, and according to can be seen in the figures, the summoned nut (to) by a part certifies a head or principal body (1 ), while additionally is extended with a tubular neck (2) drilled inner threaded (4), opened by both extreme. By internal face of its projection, the head (1 ) affects in diametrical arrangement opposed with concavity (5) in those which have io its joint the colineals extremes (11) of a rod (10) that, bent on whether same in triangular way (figure 1 and 2) from a middle doubling (10') accordant a command lever (b) that make possible the driving rotary -of threaded or of unscrew -of the nut (to), with the one which is articulated in the concavity (5) (figures 1 to 4). The set is completed with a socket-pan (c), whose body (6) has a central drilling happen you (7) provided in an its outlet of a central is step happen you (7) provided in an its outlet of a step or tooth to annul that way a bounce or in ceiling (7'), figure 2. Also, the base face ofthe socket-pan (c) presents an irregular surface antiskid with micro -bounces (8). The interior diameter ofthe drilling reduced by the tooth to annul from ceiling (7), it is slightly greater the foreign diameters of the neck (2); so that is inserted freely in this, a time something

20 which, to the such neck extremity (2) is practiced it an emphasized or monopolized certify you of a curbing (3) that broadens the diameter (figure 2) and lets mounted in (2) to the socket-pan (c) in local way, though without possibility be dismantled through set (figure 1 , 3 and 4), since the monopolized under curbing (3) has a greater diameter that that of tooth to annul (3), though fits inside the cavity ofthe drilling (7).

25 Mounted thus the pieces (to), (b) and (c) that integrate the set'of the nut this is maintained armed, remained the terminal extremes (11) of the lever (b) footwears clearly in the concavity (5) of the head (1), among the internal faces of this, and the proximales of the socket-pan (c) about which define a space of variable magnitude (9), figure 3. Now well, all or at least the extremes (11) ofthe rod (10) that constitutes the lever (b), present the so particularity to have a variable section with two diameters (d) and (D) of different magnitude among if. Thus, and according to is observed in the transverse court ofthe lever (b) in the figure 2, such section can be rectangular of rounded corners, oval or similar, with smaller diameter (d) that corresponds to the broad of such section and it is equivalent or slightly smaller to the distance minima ofthe space (9), and a greater diameter (D) -uided to 90° ss with respect to the (d) -that exceeds the magnitude of that space (9). Being the diameter

(d) corresponding to the position ofthe lever (b) unfolded (figures 1 and 4), that is to say, to permit the driving rotary ofthe nut (A); while the diameter (D) coincides with the folded position ofthe lever (b), producing to levy manner the maximum distanced among (1) and (6), figure 3. The device works ofthe following manner: inserted the extremity ofthe tubular neck (2) that composes the nut (to) in a screw such as for example the shaft tops (50) for the assembly of a session (v) in the pitchfork of a bicycle, figure 5 and 6], making to draw the lever (b) according to the figure 4 is produced the own driving of threaded ofthe nut (at), until it has been produced the unscrew lcomplete in (50).

During this operation the terminal extremes (11) are guided enabling the smaller diameter (d) of the rod that composes the referring lever (b). But a time reached the screwfully maximum, is fallback each lever (b) according to the figures 3 and 6; with what, to levy manner, is enabled the diameter (D) greater that "broadens" faxibly the space (9) and produces an additional adjustment that fixes the nut (to) in the torque reached; while the surface nonslipping (8) ofthe socket-pan avoids any possibility of slide on the area of support. When it is wished unscrew the nut (to), enough to lift unfolding again the lever (b) (figures 1 and 4), to produce first the autcrop automatic ofthe levy, and then the unscrew by inverse rotation . It is certain that to be the present invention carried to the practices, they will be able be introduced modifications in those which to certain construction details and way is referring, without implicates be separated from the fundamental principles that is purports clearly in the claustrations indicotived that continue afterwards:
