Abstract:
[Problem] The purpose of this invention is to provide an elastic mesh structure that excels in terms of cushioning performance and produces less noise during compression or restoration. [Solution] A mesh structure comprising a three-dimensional structure of joined random loops, said three-dimensional structure of joined random loops being obtained by twisting a continuous strand comprising a thermoplastic resin so as to form random loops and making said loops contact each other in a molten state so as to fuse the loops together at most of the contact points, wherein: (a) the aforementioned continuous strand has a hollow cross-section; (b) the void fraction of said hollow cross-section is between 10% and 50%, inclusive; (c) the diameter of the continuous strand is between 0.10 and 0.65 mm, inclusive; and (d) the structure of joined random loops has at least 200 but less than 500 join points per gram.
