A rack bar (10) includes a hollow shaft member (12) including a rack (11) configured to engage with a pinion, and a screw member (13) joined to a axial end portion (12a, 12b) of the shaft member (12). The screw member (13) includes an extension portion (14) axially adjacent to the axial end portion (12a, 12b) of the shaft member (12). The extension portion (14) of the screw member (13) includes a female screw (15).
