In the present invention, a rack device is equipped with a fall-prevention mechanism that can prevent articles from falling. Said rack device (1), for an automated warehouse, is laid out parallel to the path of a stacker crane (100). The rack device (1) is provided with a support column (21) that extends vertically, a fixed part (60) affixed to said support column (21), a moving load-receiving member (70), and viscoelastic bodies (80). The fixed part (60) has a horizontal member (63). The cross-section of the moving load-receiving member (70) comprises a pair of wall parts (71) and a connecting part (72) that open downwards. The moving load-receiving member (70) is placed on top of the aforementioned horizontal member (63) such that the inside top surface of the moving load-receiving member (70) is opposite the top surface of the horizontal member. The abovementioned viscoelastic bodies (80), which are disposed between side surfaces of the horizontal member (63) and the inside surface of the moving load-receiving member (70), join the moving load-receiving member (70) and the fixed part (60) to each other.
