Abstract:
The present invention supports a rack bushing for supporting a rack shaft in a slidable manner, without pinching the rack bushing between two members in the axial direction and without rattling in the axial direction with respect to the rack housing. A rack housing 22 is provided with an engagement recess section 44 having a bottom surface comprising a bottom inclined surface 45 inclined in a radially outward direction toward the opening side of the rack housing 22. A rack bushing 37 is provided with an engagement projection section 51 having a top surface comprising a top inclined surface 55 inclined in a radially outward direction toward the opening side of the rack housing 22. The top inclined surface 55 is radially outwardly pressed against the bottom inclined surface 45. An outside surface 56a, of the engagement projection section 51, oriented toward the opening side of the rack housing 22 is pressed in the axial direction against an inside surface 46a, of the engagement recess section 44, oriented toward the depth side of the rack housing 22.
