　In this radar device (2), a decision unit (503, S320-340) compares the ratio (-Vr/Vn) of relative speed (Vr) and host vehicle speed (Vn), and the cosine (cosθc) of a detection limit angle (±θc) or a decision value (α) obtained by adding a correction value that includes the measurement error to the cosine (cosθc); and when it is decided that the ratio (-Vr/Vn) exceeds the decision value (α), a decision is made that what is involved is an actual crossing-moving object (a crossing pedestrian or the like) or a stopped object, or if decided otherwise, a decision is made that what is involved is the reflection "ghost" of a crossing-moving object or stopped object. Actual crossing-moving objects or stopped objects and reflection ghosts thereof can thereby be distinguished from each other; e.g., a reflection ghost can therefore be prevented from being misidentified as an actual object; and, e.g., improper braking control can be prevented from being carried out.
