Abstract:

Provided are a radiant-type cooling device and a reduced iron manufacturing method in which the amount of periodic component replacement work can be reduced compared to the prior art. This radiant-type cooling device (100) is characterized in having a cooling pipe (30) for cooling reduced iron (9) through radiation, the cooling pipe (30) being provided to a surge hopper (20) for storing the reduced iron (9) discharged from a rotary hearth-type heating reduction furnace. Providing a position-changing device (32) for changing the relative position of the cooling pipe (30) with respect to the surge hopper (20) makes it possible to change the radiation area and control the cooling temperature.
