The present application provides: a radiation damage protective agent characterized by containing, as an active ingredient, hydrogen gas for treating or alleviating radiation damage suffered by a human patient who has experienced radiation exposure or who has undergone or is undergoing radiation therapy, the hydrogen gas being contained in a concentration of 18.5% by volume or less in a high-pressure capsule that exceeds standard atmospheric pressure; and a high-pressure capsule for administering a hydrogen gas treatment agent such as a radiation damage protective agent to patients, including humans.
