The present technology relates to a radiation detecting device which enables a radiation projected image to be obtained in a short time. This radiation detecting device is provided with: a scintillator which emits scintillation light in response to the incidence of radiation; a pixel board in which a plurality of pixels which perform photoelectric conversion of the scintillation light and output pixel signals corresponding to the light intensity of the scintillation light are disposed in an array; a detection circuit board which is stacked on the pixel board and which includes an analog to digital (A/D) converting unit for performing A/D conversion of the pixel signals; and a compressing unit for compressing digital data output from the A/D converting unit. The present technology can be applied to X-ray imaging devices and the like which capture images by detecting X-rays, for example.
