Abstract:
This radiation detector (1) is provided with: a scintillator (2) that converts radiation into radiation light; a photomultiplier tube (6) that outputs the radiation light emitted by the scintillator (2) as a current pulse; a light guide (3) provided between the scintillator (2) and the photomultiplier tube (6); a preamplifier (7) that converts the current pulse output by the photomultiplier tube (6) into a voltage pulse and amplifies the voltage pulse; a case (9) that has an opening part that allows radiation to be incident to the scintillator (2), and contains a component configured to include the scintillator (2), the light guide (3), the photomultiplier tube (6), and the preamplifier (7); and a fixing member (10) that includes a chemical that emits the radiation, the fixing member (10) fixing the light guide (3) to the case (9), wherein a fault of the component is sensed by detecting the radiation emitted from the fixing member (10).
