Abstract:
A radiation image detection device (20) is provided with a light detection element (10) for detecting fluorescence and a prism (5) disposed between the light detection element (10) and an imaging plate (IP) on the optical path of excitation light (EL) approaching the imaging plate (IP). The prism (5) has, as surfaces thereof, side surface (5c), which opposes the imaging plate (IP), and side surface (5a) and side surface (5b), which are inclined in relation to side surface (5c). The prism (5) is disposed such that excitation light (EL) entering from side surface (5a) propagates through the interior of the prism and exits from side surface (5c) and such that reflected light from the imaging plate (IP), which enters from side surface (5c), propagates through the interior of the prism and exits from side surface (5b). The light detection element (10) is disposed so as to oppose an area other than the area of the prism (5) surface from which the reflected light from the imaging plate (IP) exits.
