Abstract:
A radiation source detection method (600) and system (700), comprising a detector (710) and a processor (720). When a detection object moves through the detector (710), the detector (710) measures a count rate curve of the detection object (S610); perform pattern recognition of the count rate curve (S620); and according to the result of the pattern recognition (S620), determine whether or not the detection object contains a radiation source, and if so, determine the type of radiation source (S630). By performing pattern recognition of a count rate curve (S620), the invention reduces the number of false alarms caused by naturally radioactive substances, increasing operation efficiency.
