Abstract:
Provided is a radio-controlled wristwatch capable of determining, using a plurality of mutually different criteria, whether the illuminance of light irradiated to a solar cell is high or not, even if the output voltage and current values of the solar cell is not directly measured.
The radio-controlled wristwatch comprises a solar cell, a control circuit that stops the operation thereof under a predetermined condition, and an illuminance detection circuit for outputting a signal indicating whether the illuminance of light irradiated to a solar cell exceeds a given threshold value or not. In the radio-controlled wristwatch, the given threshold value is switched between a first illuminance threshold value and a second illuminance threshold value larger than the first illuminance threshold value. When a signal indicating that the illuminance exceeds the first illuminance threshold value is output, the control circuit that is not operating is activated. When a signal indicating that the illuminance exceeds the second illuminance threshold value is output, a satellite signal including time information is received from a satellite and the time corresponding to the time information included in the received satellite signal is displayed.
