Abstract:
An adaptive-array radio base station comprises three or more antenna elements (ANT¿j? : j=1, 2, ...,n) and a signal processing circuit (20). For calibration, the difference in phase rotation and the difference in amplitude fluctuation between the transmitting and receiving circuits in each transmission system are estimated on the basis of the known signal sent by each transmission system and the received signals measured in the transmission system. The quantity of phase rotation by the phase shifter (PS¿j?) and the quantity of amplitude fluctuation of the attenuator (ATT¿j?) are set according to the results of estimation. Therefore, the transmission characteristics of the transmitting and receiving circuit can be calibrated using a simplified inexpensive configuration without providing a special measuring circuit.
