Proposed are radio terminals, each of which efficiently generates the number of alternative paths, and a number-of-alternative-paths generation method. Each of a plurality of relay radio terminals in a radio communication system, in which the radio terminal relays a packet on the basis of path information indicating paths along which to transmit the packet to a destination radio terminal, comprises: a path information storage means that receives, from a radio terminal connected with the local radio terminal, a first packet including path information and the numbers of first paths for the respective sets of paths and that stores the path information and the numbers of first paths; and a number-of-alternative-paths calculation means that receives a second packet transmitted from a radio terminal of transmission source and including the number of second paths between the radio terminal of transmission source and a destination radio terminal and that calculates, as the number of alternative paths of the local radio terminal, a value, which is obtained by subtracting, from the number of second paths, a value obtained by multiplying the number of first paths between the local radio terminal and the radio terminal of transmission source by the number of first paths between the local radio terminal and the destination radio terminal.
