Abstract:
This railroad car comprises: a carriage for supporting the wheels; a vehicle body (26) provided with a bottom plate and a top wall and supported on the carriage; electrical equipment disposed below the floor of the vehicle body (26) or inside the vehicle body (26); and a cooling device (40) for cooling the electrical equipment. The cooling device (40) is equipped with a housing (42) for defining a blower fan chamber (41), the housing being disposed inside the vehicle body (26); and with a blower fan (44) having an intake port (52) that opens into the blower fan chamber (41), the blower fan being disposed inside the blower fan chamber (41). The blower fan (44) is connected to an air intake port (72) formed in a shoulder of the top wall (26c), and to an air intake chamber (70) furnished to the inside face side of the top wall (26c). Cooling air drawn in from the air intake port (70) via the air intake chamber (70) is directed to the electrical equipment.
