Abstract:
Provided is a low-cost railway car gearing of a parallel Cardan drive format with which the vibration and noise that occur when a large gear and a small gear are enmeshed can be reduced with simply a two-dimensional tooth surface modification. A railway car gearing of a parallel Cardan drive format is provided with a helical small gear (1) and a helical large gear (2) forming a pair, each of which has gear specifications such as 4-8 modules, the pressure angle being 20-30°, and the angle of twist being 15-30°, and crowning is carried out on a tooth surface of a tooth trace direction of the helical small gear. The tooth surface (11) has a sine curve shape spanning the full width in the tooth width direction of the helical small gear, where a vertex (11a) is located in a middle region of the tooth width direction of the helical small gear, and the sine curve shape is represented by a simple sinusoidal function.
