Abstract:
A rain sensor mounted on a transparent substrate comprises: a light-emitting element (10) for irradiating the transparent substrate with a plurality of radiation beams; a plurality of light-receiving elements (20) for receiving the reflected beams of said plurality of radiation beams reflected from said transparent substrate; a regulation section (30) for regulating the incidence angle of each reflected beam with respect to each light-receiving element; and a detection unit (40) for detecting the amount of rain on the basis of a plurality of output signals from said plurality of light-receiving elements. Said light-emitting element irradiates an irradiation area regulated on said transparent substrate with said radiation beams. Said irradiation area is divided into a plurality of detection areas and said plurality of detection areas respectively corresponds to said plurality of light-receiving elements. Said regulation section regulates the incidence angle of each reflected beam with respect to each light-receiving element such that one reflected beam reflected from one detection area of said plurality of detection areas is incident to a corresponding light-receiving element. Said detection unit detects the amount of rain on the basis of said plurality of output signals from said plurality of light-receiving elements corresponding to said irradiation area.
