DESCRIPTION
Rammer for a Continuous Press Rotating Cage
Technical field.
My invention is a new type of rammer to substitute the rammer in use in the actual Continuous Press used for wine making or other substance squeeze, in the enological field and in agricultural field in general.
Background of Art. The applicant, in the prior patent request, n° 14/August/2000 NA2003A000055 Italy, which is also associated the Italian patent n° 0001322258 date 31/05/2004, describes a mechanism of pressing in a continuous press rotating cage. In this mechanism is specified a pressing member, which is defined as rammer. The rammer is fitted with retractable shovels and turns eccentrically in a cage, that is animated by the same peripheral speed of the rammer . The rammer effects a pressing of the substance, but it operates on a not uniform thickness.
In fact, as we can note in the fig.l, the space of pressing, in which the substance is limited, results among the cage (1 fig.l) and the rammer (2 fig.l), and is assimilable to two adjacent triangles (3-4 fig.l) separated by the nearest point (5 fig.l) between the cage and the rammer.
This not uniformity of the pressing thickness determines a not uniform drain, that induces an excessive efficiency loss decreasing drained liquid. Instead the rammer that we will go to describe, object of this request, produces an uniform pressure on the
material layer and therefore an effective best drain and more liquid extraction.
Disclosure of invention The device is constituted by a prismatic central shaft (3 fig.2) having polygonal section endowed with extremity pivot (4 fig.2) . on the faces of the prism are arranged some trunks, shaped as circular sector (5 fig.2). The cylindrical face of these pieces has the same ray of the cage (1 fig.3in which the rammer turns
(2 fig.3). The trunks are positioned in such way that, between two trunks, a free space is left (6 fig.2). In this free space it's placed a shovel (7 fig.2), that is free to slide in the groove, a suitable lock avoids the shovel to escape from its housing. The slide of the shovel out of the groove is obtained through one or more pistons (8 fig.2), that push it out. A fluid in pressure flows inside one or more channels through the shaft to feed the cylinders of the pistons (9 fig.2). The re-enter of the shovel within the groove is reached progressively during the rotation of the cage and rammer. The shovel (7 fig.4: 4a-4b) , meets the cage in contact point (10 fig.4: 4a-4b) , so the cage, winning the strength carried out from the pistons, pushes the shovel in the groove .==============
The pressing product occupies the free space delimited by two shovels the cage and the rammer (11 fig.4:4c-4b) this space has an uniform thickness because the rammer and the cage have the same ray of the cage. During rotation, the rammer carries the pressing material to the cage (12 fig.4: 4a-4b) . The material captured between the shovels the cage and the rammer is
constrained to a volume reduction caused by the space diminishing between the cage and the rammer, having in this way an effectively homogeneous pressing. =========
The rammer, during his rotation can move more far or near to the cage, as shown by the arrows |UP| and
I DOWN I (fig.3) to permit the rotation of the rammer that behave like a cam. ===================================== Everything as described and illustrated. ==============
Modes for carrying out the invention
The construction of the equipment may carry out from a common mechanical tooling. It doesn't need particular working.
